Administrator, author, evangelist, publisher, Haskell helped inaugurate the first regular church tract and missionary society plan in 1869. He was also involved in the development of Seventh-day Adventist education at schools like Battle Creek College, the Madison College, Healdsburg College, South Lancaster Academy, and Avondale College.
